Concrete Blonde – Exclusive Interview with Johnette Napolitano

Concrete Blonde arrives in the next week for two concerts in the south of Brazil. ROCK EXPRESS had the opportunity to make a few questions to the lead singer Johnette Napolitano about this short tour and the new work of the band. Check it out:

Rock Express – What represents for Concrete Blonde to come back to Brazil, where you chose record your first live album? (“Live in Brazil” – 2002)

PhotobucketJohnette Napolitano – We love Brazil and the enthusiasm and spirit of the people, which is why we chose to record ‘Live in Brazil’ there and to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of that release.

RE – And what Brazilian fans can expect from Concrete Blonde? Are you working on new songs and maybe on a new album?

Johnette – We want to record a live DVD next year and tour all of South America. We pressed a single on white vinyl for our short tours in the US this last year, and we love that. “Rosalie” is available through CDBABY for download. I don’t know how to make our new work available in South America, but we’re trying.

RE – What do you expect from the show and the Brazilian fans in this tour almost one decade since you last played here?

Johnette – Brazilian fans know us well and as usual can expect a great show.

Concrete Blonde concerts will be at Porto Alegre (May, 17) and Curitiba (May, 18 – with Gene Loves Jezebel).
